Permanent Residence (Green Card)


Becoming a Lawful Permanent Resident, also informally known as "Green Card holders", is a highly sought after form of residency within the United States. According to the INA (Immigration and Nationality Act), being a lawful permanent resident allows the holders the rights, benefits, and privileges to remain in the United States permanently.

  • Family Based
    • Marriage Petition: Filed when a spouse is married to a legal U.S. citizen. Allows spouse of U.S. citizent to obtain their green card.

    • Familial Petitions:  Family members may petition for certain family members to reciee their green cards.

    • Adjustment of Status/Immigrant Visas: Allows an applicant who is elible to apply to become a lawful permanent resident without the need of traveling abroad to apply for an immigrant visa.

    • K-1/K-2 Visas: For the fiance of a U.S. citizen. This allows the fiance to travel to U.S. for the sake of marrying the citizen of the United States.

    • 601-A Waivers: form created for immigrants who are facing inadmissibility to the U.S. This could be due to extreme hardships, religious persecution, war, famine, etc.

  • Employment Based
    • EB-1:  Reserved for those immigrants who have "extroidaordinary abilities", multinational executive or manager, or highly notable or outstanding professors or researchers seeking residence in the U.S. Also considered "Priority Workers".

              EB-1A: A foreigner with extraordinary ability in their field of study or work.


              EB-1B: Outstanding University Professors or Researchers.


              EB-1C: Multinational Executives or Managers


    • EB-2: Created for individuals who possess advanced degrees or the equivalent. They individuals may have exceptional ability in the sciences, arts, or business.

    • National Interest Waivers: Those requesting to seek residency because it is in the interest of the United States for them to be here in the country.

    • EB-4: Reserved for special immigrants that are generally within the area of religious workers, international organizations, Iraqi/Afghan translators, Iraqis who have assisted the U.S., armed force members, Panama Canal zone employees, reitred NATO-6 employees, spouses and children of the deceased NATO-6 employees. and physicians.

  • Investment Based
    • EB-5:  Entrepreneurs who make the necessary inestment in a commercial entity within the U.S. and plan tokeep 10 full time jobs for those qualified U.S. workers are eligible to apply for a green card. Spouses and unmarried childress under 21 are able to be incorporated in the application.
